So I am not sure if I am a bad mom or not. But today I do have to say I felt a little guilty. Parker had his 18 month well child visit today. I thought I would save me a trip to the Dr. and get Preston's 5 year shots done at the same time. He does not have the best track record for being the best patient. So I had to get Korey to come and meet us to help hold him down. All morning I full on lied to the poor kid. He would ask me "Now just Parker is getting shots, no one else right?" I would answer "Yes, Parker has to get a shot today." So we get there and do Parker's whole check up. He is healthy and growing at his normal slow rate. The only bad part is he is not a sleeper so it sounds like we are going to have a few rough nights of letting him cry it out, until he learns to sleep on his own. Wish us luck. But we get Parker's shot while Korey starts to tell Preston that he is going to have to get shots. All heck breaks loose and he is punching Korey in the face and freaking out like crazy. It took 2 nurses so they could tag team him. But we got it done and no more shots until he is 12. Or next winter for the flu shot! I felt so bad we stopped at W*lm*rt on the way home and he got to pick out a movie so he could come home and lay on the couch until his legs feel better. He said after I got the movie for him that he still loved me even though I was mean today!

OH sad :( He still loves you even though you were mean today :) You're definitely NOT a bad mom. I would've done the exact same thing. Whatever takes, seriously!
It's okay--we lie too. Eli is usually our worst one but when it came time for the flu shots last year, Rory was the one who had to be held down.
you're not a bad mom. sometimes you just have to say anything to get them to go. i would have (and have) done the same thing.
I say you do what you can to get them in the door! I always promise a treat or a new toy...anything to not make a HUGE scene! I would have done the same thing!
What you lied to your child, I have never in my life told a lie? ;-) Luckily kids don't hold grudges too long!
